A strategy I can use to find predicates is that they are always verbs. I know that nouns and pronouns signal a subject, also that direct objects appear with verbs. Subordinating connections are always before subjects and predicates. Lastly dependent clauses always have a subordinating conjunctions.

I learned how to identify a verb phrase. I also learned that a dependent clause must have a subordinating conjunction. Another thing I learned is what three words identify as articles.
